Official: Augmented Pixels has no relations with Bright Capital

Hello!

It has recently come to our attention that Augmented Pixels is being referred to in several news articles(“Russia Today” and some other press) as a portfolio company, or a former portfolio company, of Bright Capital, a venture capital fund out of Russia associated with Mikhail Abyzov.

For the record, and to correct any erroneous information which is being disseminated, Augmented Pixels is not now and has never been a portfolio company of Bright Capital.

Mikhail Abyzov is also not an investor in Augmented Pixels, either personally or through any investment vehicle.

He does not have a board seat or any observer rights in Augmented Pixels, and neither he nor Bright Capital are in any way affiliated with our company.

We have identified the original source of the misinformation as Crunchbase.

Originally, Crunchbase erroneously listed Bright Capital as an investor in Augmented Pixels possibly because one of Bright Capital’s ex-adviser is an investor in Augmented Pixels in his individual capacity and not as a representative of Bright Capital.

He made a small investment (just $70k in 2015) and does not have either a board seat or information rights.

Crunchbase has since corrected the mistake in its records, but it seems that the “story” has taken on a life of its own and continues to persist, which is why we felt it was necessary to set the record straight once and for all.

Best Regards,

CEO and Founder of Augmented Pixels
Vitaliy Goncharuk
