Augmented Pixels joined the Open Geospatial Consortium to improve geospatial industry standards in 3D mapping and localization

April 14, 2021 – Augmented Pixels Inc, simultaneous localization and 3D mapping technology developer based in Palo Alto, CA, has become a member of OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium), a worldwide community enhancing access to geospatial information.

Leading the way in providing SLAM SDK technology, 3D mapping and AR navigation solutions Augmented Pixels joined the OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) to effect the further establishment of the 3D mapping industry and the geospatial standards setting, and spread knowledge though industry events.

Along with other 500 businesses, governmental and educational institutions united by OGC’s mission to make location FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable), Augmented Pixels strives for establishing industry standards and works on solving geospatial challenges.

The company has already been a founding member of Open AR Cloud, non-profit foundation which is seeking to encourage the development of interoperable open AR Cloud technology and establish standards to connect physical and digital worlds in the most beneficial way for both.
